Structure Your Weeks

In Create Time, Misc, Personal Growth

Brief: This post is about tips to help you properly structure your weeks and get the most out of your time!

Creating structure in your life doesn’t mean that you follow a minute by minute plan and can’t lead an interesting or even spontaneous life. Structure simply allows you to get important or necessary things done efficiently so the rest of your time can be free for you to spend however you choose. In fact, even creating a small amount of structure in your weeks will result in you seeing yourself with more free time to do the things you enjoy most. Below I have listed the (how ever many) ways that I implement structure into my life.

Sacrifice 1 Night A Week (Minimum)
The thought of “I’ll do it tomorrow” can be a slippery slope. I recommend that you choose 1 day of the week that is usually pretty slow and dedicate that night to your necessary weekly duties. Grocery shop, Laundry, cleaning up around the house, etc. I find a more popular way of doing things is to wait until desperation sets in, then, and only then will something get done. That can be stressful and is probably not enjoyable at all. If you implement a fixed schedule for these basic errands to get done I promise you it will take a load off your mind. There is no question as to when you are going to get something done because you know. Your basic errands will never get out of hand and trust me, it will help you relax.

Treat Yourself Once A Week
If I’m going to tell you to give up a night for chores I’m definitely going to tell you to take a day/night and treat yourself. Do something you love once a week minimum! Golf with your buddies, go for a long walk, watch a movie with popcorn, have a nice glass of wine, go for dinner with the girls, date night with you and your partner, whatever! You should be focussed on enjoying your life, you know you’re allowed to have fun right? So plan that into your week! Happiness can be scheduled!

Plan Ahead/ NEED & WANT
At the beginning of the week you should sit down and write out everything you NEED to get done and everything you WANT to get done. Try and find a balance between the 2. There is so much time throughout the week and we waste a lot of it. If you create a plan for yourself and structure your weeks properly you will be more confident with your time because you have already given it thought. You won’t look back and realize you wasted valuable time that you now wish you had back.

If you structure your weeks properly I guarantee you will find yourself with more free time and less stress. Who doesn’t want that?
